Alejandro Jodorowsky on Technology
“I foresaw the use of computers and the Internet. Many people ask me how i feel about technological developments. About the Internet and so on, things like robots. I think that if we have got this far it’s because man was created for it.
Spiders make spider’s webs and nobody finds it surprising.
Man makes machines because that is part of their brain programming....
Zappata Schmidt - Money is the root of all EVIL
In record digging there’s a saying, “The Ugliest motherfuckers make the best music!” It’s a simple rule of thumb when you’re digging records you’re unfamiliar with. Now I’mma let you take a moment and think about what I just said.
Well there ya go.. you see what I’m talking about? Good. Beat digging 101 folks.
Now that brings me to the Eddy...
HOTTER THAN JULY - Stevie wonder documentary
This is excellent. Looking at how Stevie interacts and deals with people. You see Stevie without his glasses. Meeting families. Dealing with Promoters. Interacting with his musicians. Goofing around. Reading. Flirting. Definitely a Rare look at an interesting period of time. Dig.
Big Thanks to DJ DAY!
The Outcasts - Loving you sometimes

Dopamine Flux - Halloween set
Been a while since I’ve posted anything about my band, truth is we haven’t been up to much.
My buddy Stefano, great kid barely 21, Long amazing dreadlocks. In a pinch last year he stepped in to help lay some bass for our Halloween gigs. I made him and the band learn 13 BBOY cover songs. These are songs he’s never heard before, but the boy came through. Stefano’s friends...
Padded Cell - Savage Skulls
Couple of cool producers Bronx Dog (Heavenly) and a Dirty Beatnik (Wall of Sound) just collaborated on this new project as PADDED CELL.
Why would I be interested? Well.. turns out the homie Ron Graham of the Giallos Flame provided some sounds as well as DENNIS YOUNG from liquid liquid.
According to some other site: Dennis Young (Liquid Liquid) plays percussion and marimba, Chloe Battant...
Monday morning Coffee - Woima collective
Monday… yes..Another day I wish I could just skip… Oh well, here we go.
Today’s song comes from the funkiest Germans possible. Poets of Rhythm aka Woima collective. This time around I hear a distinct Budos band Influence. Ethiopian influence. Psychedelic. Funky. At least somebody in this world is getting away with making incredible music like this. Beautiful.
I am truly a “lone traveler” and have never belonged to my country,...

Sly and the Revolutionaries - Cocaine
Here’s a good test for your white friends. Play them this song, and stare at them in the face. You can quickly and easy judge there whole personality in life, by their response to Cocaine.
If they give you that —what? face. What a boring motherfucker. You can have those people I don’t want them near me. What a sad culture we live in where you have no reaction to fucking...
Aloe Blacc and the Grand Scheme
Just met these cats last night at their gig in the Cosmo here in Vegas. Very smooth set. It was very polished soul feel sort of like I was catching an Al Green show now. Very impressive. No pretention of RETRO soul, and yet nothing too modern about the whole night either.
Aloe kept a really nice rapport with the crowd and it kept it all very fun. Definitely like this band live much more...
Jorge de la vega - Abracadabara
Well.. wish I had better news for the day, but I just have to wait for these COX cable people to setup. So..bare with the technical difficulties until I get permanent internet access. New house. No internet access. Inevitable holdups and such.
Here’s a song I’m really proud to be able to bring you today that comes from my friend AGE that I met through Soul Strut. Mind bending...
TRISH KEENAN - in her own words
“There’s a place I have never explored / Another world we have yet to conquer / And until then none of us have anything”
“In a way, when I go back to my own memories I feel as if that’s not me either, when I think about myself as 13 or 20 I feel a disconnection from that person. It’s the same with dreams. When you recall the events it never really happened to...

THE SUDDEN DEATH OF TRISH KEENAN
I’m completely floored and besides myself as I have to type this. Trish Keenan of the band Broadcast, one of my personal favorite living female artists has just passed. I have a lot to say about this, but I have to finish moving right now.. I’ll be back when I can.
Trish my dear, Rest in peace, love.

More Bounce to the Ounce begat Genius of love
Chris Frantz of Tom Tom Club: “I guess we did. I mean, ‘Genius Of Love’ was completely inspired by a band called Zapp and their song, ‘More Bounce To The Ounce’, but it’s not a rip-off. If you play the two together you’ll see that it was a source of inspiration for us. And James Brown was a tremendous influence on Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club....

Monday Morning Coffee - Lonnie Liston Smith
Yes, it’s true.. I will be selling all my records soon. Yes, indeed. Music is my life. I’ll also be selling everything else I own. Including my music instruments. Why? Because there has to be more to life than this. Even though I hate everything, and I can seem to do well at anything. I need to strip away everything that’s holding me back. But in the choosing I of course am...
Should I take this as a sign TUMBLR?
So.. basically I’ve written maybe 3 or 4 apology posts.. leading to a BIG MUFF HIATUS.. or an End of Big Muff.
Tumblr wouldn’t let me post it.
HAHAHA… Alright Tumblr, I get you. You evil sonofabitch. Big Muff will stay.
Happy new year! Big Muff Lives..
